Babies & Toddlers

Our purpose built Baby & Toddler Unit is designed to be bright, cheerful and stimulating for children aged from birth to approximately two years. We have been careful to provide a variety of musical and educational toys to enhance your childs development. Treasure baskets boast a wealth of safe objects for children to explore, investigating how they feel and sound. Children enjoy learning from their first hand experiences, experimenting with a variety of different media from finger painting, jelly & pasta play to splashing in the water in the paddling pool. Children enjoy taking part in rhyme time, learning finger play and songs. They love to explore a variety of brightly coloured board books and listen to simple stories with their friends.

Two free introductory sessions are offered for each child to help them to settle into their new nursery environment. Parents are welcome to stay alongside their child during the sessions if they wish to and get to know their childs Key Person. Parents are encouraged to share their childs routines form home with their Key Person to help ensure a continuity of care for their child.

Parents are asked to supply nappies and a complete named change of clothes for their child. For the bottle fed baby we would ask for a supply of sterilised bottles and preferred brand of formula milk on a daily basis. All nursery food is freshly prepared on the premises; our full time cook provides a balanced, nutritious menu for the children and works closely alongside parents through the weaning process.

There are plenty of opportunities for hugs and cuddles during our busy nursery day. provisions made for the rest and quiet times where soft toys and soothing music will help to encourage peaceful sleep. Cots are provided for our younger babies, with cushions and sleep mats for older children. Parents are encouraged to bring any familiar comforters form home i.e dummies, blankets and teddies.
